The Cornell Urology physicians work together as the Brady Urology Associates. The Cornell Department of Urology originally existed as one unit at Bellvue Hospital with the second unit at The New York Hospital. The New York Hospital was supported by a substantial grant from "Diamond Jim" Brady, which has allowed research and other educational programs since its inception.
Additional support from the Wallace, Lynch, and Lawrence families has been instrumental in allowing the Cornell Urology group to expand to represent all areas of
urological interest & subspecialties. Numerous fellows have been supported by the
generous contributions of these families. The second unit at Bellvue was eventually
disbanded, with uniform service for all classes of patients under one roof at what is now the
Weill Cornell Medical Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital on the ninth floor at 525 East
68th Street.
