Cryosurgery

This is a relatively new modality for the treatment of prostate cancer. It involves placing several percutaneous probes into the prostate and the prostate is then frozen, thawed and then frozen again. This freezing technique causes the death of cancer cells. Since it is relatively new, there is no long term data concerning is efficacy.
